Sports Camp 2-5 June 2009
Mid Year Holiday is on its way. Ever wonder how you can learn something new and have fun at the same time ?!
Come join the SPORTS CAMP for four days and three nights !! Organized by Raleigh International Kuala Lumpur, this camp is opened to students of 13-17 years that is interested on sports with no prior sports experience or involvement needed.
Besides the chance to get to learn sports skills, you can meet new friends or befriended with people with the same interest and enjoy a variety of outdoor activities.
It’ll be held from 2-5 June 2009. The campsite is located at OUTBAC, Broga near Semenyih where facilities of outdoor activities are provided.
During this camp, you’ll learn about these sports:
- Floorball
Also known as floor hockey. It is a fast paced sport played on a court. Similar to hockey, the objective is to get a small plastic ball into a net with the aid of the floorball stick. Floorball is popularly played in Penang, KL and Selangor.
- Touch Rugby
Touch Rugby is a limited-contact sport compared to rugby. Tackles of opposing players are replaced by touch, hence the name Touch Rugby. It was firstly introduced in Malaysia officially around 1998 where the first tournament was held for those aged below 12. Touch rugby can help to promote rugby among kids and women. Nowadays, it is commonly played by both sexes or mixed as a weekend social game or as a competition.
- Softball
A direct descendant of baseball, softball is a team sport that has rules similar to its predecessor. The factor that set softball apart from baseball are that softball involves a smaller diamond and a larger ball is used.
- Tchoukball ( pronounced as “chook-ball” )
One of the latest sports introduced in here, Malaysia has been actively involved in international tchoukball competitions. Tchoukball is a mixture of handball, volleyball, squash & basketball. Combine these 4sports and you will get Tchoukball. It is a team sport that is played with a ball & two tchoukball frames. The objective is to shoot the ball into the frame with their hand.
These sports will be coached by people who are experienced or trained in the sports mentioned above, so worry not of being bored as you will get to learn the fundamental skills of the sports and the real life game situations. Besides, basic sports science is incorporated in the learning progress, so you not only play hard but also play smart.
During some break, you’ll have time for recreational activities such as flying fox, night hiking, Frisbee, kayaking, obstacles challenge, etc. This could be the chance for you to build up your physical strength in this holiday!
It will be a sensational holiday for teens as it could rock your holiday with lots of fun !!

A fee of RM 350.00 will be charged for participation, this fee includes accommodation and food at OUTBAC, facilities fee, equipment fee and transportation. More details about registration and payment will be given along with the form emailed to you.
